The Lindenwood women's soccer team (4-4-1, 4-2-1 GLVC) picked up a 1-0 overtime win against Rockhurst (3-5-2, 2-2-2 GLVC) on Sunday afternoon from Kansas City, Mo.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood withstood an early push from Rockhust as the Hawks compiled the first three shots of the match, including a corner kick. The Lions settled in shortly after, with Lindewood recording five of the next six shots during the opening 45 minutes of play. Neither team could find the back of the net, however, seeing the game go into halftime scoreless.
The two teams traded opportunities in the second half, but once again, were unable to find the back of the net as
Samantha Linderer and the Lindenwood defense kept the game scoreless. Linderer made five of her season-high eight saves during the second half of play. The Lions would head to overtime for a second-straight game.
In the extra session, Lindenwood earned a free-kick about two minutes into the action.
Mia Corrigan sent the ball into the box, which
Emily Burton headed forward and
Bailey Bologna was in the right spot as the senior midfielder netted her second goal of the season, the game-winning tally.Â
