Lindenwood field hockey (6-6) capped off a weekend of play with a 3-0 win against Frostburg State (1-10) on Tuesday.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions went up early, 1-0, on a
Pauline Terwindt goal off of an assist from
Annick Giebels. The team would add on one more first half score after
Mia Simpson found the net with 2:51 left in the second quarter. In the opening 30 minutes of play, the Lions tallied nine shots and three penalty corners, while holding Frostburg State to just three shots.
Lindenwood's defense held strong in the second half after not allowing a shot in either the third or fourth quarter.
Rachel Goebel scored late in the match, on an assist by
Izzy Folan, to put the Lions up 3-0. In the match, Frostburg State made 13 saves while Lindenwood made just one.

The Lions will play in Charlotte, N.C. to end the 2021 season, with the first of three games coming against Coker on Friday, Oct. 22 at 5:00 p.m. (4:00 p.m. CST).
