The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (9-5, 4-2 GLVC) bounced back with a 3-0 sweep win over Rockhurst (9-7, 4-3 GLVC) on Tuesday.
MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lions, led by a double-double from
Allie Otten (36 assists and 13 digs), picked up a 3-0 sweep of Rockhurst at home. Lindenwood had the advantage in kills, 41-28, aces, 8-3, assists, 41-27, and digs, 50-42. In the match, the Lions amassed 54.0 total points to the Hawks' 38.0 point total. As a team, Lindenwood finished with a .283 hitting percentage, and limited Rockhurst to a .118 hitting percentage.
In the opening set, the Lions jumped out to a 4-0 lead with the help of two service aces from
Jessie Seidel. A 6-0 run midway through the set pushed the Lindenwood lead to nine points, 17-8. After going up 21-9 on two kills from
Taylor Gentemann and an ace from Seidel, the Lions would put away the set, 25-13, to go up 1-0. Lindenwood amassed a .267 team attack percentage in the first set.
Lindenwood's attack percentage jumped up to .324 in the second set, on 15 kills, after securing the set by a score of 25-21. Neither team was able to find a consistent run or lead, until a 3-0 run highlighted by a
Jenna Garrett service ace and a kill by
Rebecca Janke but the Lions up 21-17. Each team scored four of the final eight points in the set.
The third and final set was taken by Lindenwood, 25-17, giving the team a sweep win over the rival GLVC-foe. The defensive unit was stout for the Lions, limiting the Hawks to eight kills on a .094 hitting percentage. After Rockhurst tied the set at 15-15, Lindenwood would take 10 of the final 12 points to secure the victory.

MATCH LEADERS
- Mackenzi Sifuentes and Madilyn Dement led the team with eight kills, while Nyah Wilson finished second with seven kills.
- Jessie Seidel posted a team-high three service aces.
- Sifuentes' three total blocks were tied for the highest in the match, and the most on the team.
- Allie Otten recorded 36 assists and 13 digs, both of which were team-best outputs, and notched a double-double in the win.
