The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (14-11, 7-7 GLVC) suffered a five-set defeat, 3-2, to Southern Indiana (16-11, 10-6 GLVC) on Saturday.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood outhit Southern Indiana, .244-.183 in the loss, but finished with seven more service errors and three more reception errors. The Lions tallied 15 more kills, 14 more assists, and three more digs in the match than the Screaming Eagles. Lindenwood finished with three hitters recording 14 or more terminations.
Falling behind early in the match, 1-0, the Lions responded with a second set victory, 25-16. The Lindenwood defense held the USI attack to just eight kills and a .059 hitting percentage in the set. The Lions jumped out to an early lead, and after a service ace from the opposition narrowed the lead to three points, 17-14, Lindenwood capped the set on an 8-2 run.
Responding to a third set win by the Screaming Eagles, the Lions picked up a 25-22 fourth set victory over the opposition.

Mackenzi Sifuentes (4) combined for nine kills in the fourth set for Lindenwood. Down, 12-7, Lindenwood rattled off seven-straight points to take a 14-7 advantage. With a one-point lead, 23-22, late in the set, the Lions were able to take the final two points and even the match at 2-2. USI would win ultimately in the fifth set, 15-12.
