The Lindenwood women's basketball team (2-5, 2-1 GLVC) lost its second double-overtime game of the season on Saturday to Missouri-St. Louis (6-1, 3-0 GLVC) by a final of 80-76 inside Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions and Tritons played within a possession for the majority of the first quarter, but a three pointer by
Mary McGrath at the 3:45 mark put Lindenwood up 16-12. Missouri-St. Louis was able to tie the game at 18-18 to close out the opening frame. Lindenwood again went up by four to start the second quarter, after
Julia Ruzevich scored four points in less than one minute.

Lindenwood held a one-point lead with 2:33 to go in the half, but the Tritons held the Lions scoreless for the remainder of the quarter to take a 33-30 lead at the break. Missouri-St. Louis shot just 21.4 percent from the field, but made 9-of-9 from the free-throw line in the second quarter. Ruzevich had 11 points at the break, while
Ellen McCorkle tallied six points and four rebounds.

The Tritons continued the momentum into the third quarter, taking a six-point lead at the 8:52 mark. Lindenwood was down by eight points near the end of the period, but used a 7-0 run to make it a 45-42 deficit heading into the fourth frame. Ruzevich tied the game at 52-52 at the 5:34 mark on a layup in the paint. Ruzevich put the Lions ahead 56-55 with 3:45 remaining in the quarter, as she surpassed the 20-point mark.

The game stayed within one point for the remainder of the quarter, as Missouri-St. Louis tied the game with 15 seconds remaining to send the game to overtime. Just like the majority of the game, neither team could pull away, as the Tritons were up by two points with 1:15 to go in the first overtime. McGrath scored on a turnover with 17 seconds remaining, leading to the second overtime game of the season for the Lions. After Lindenwood scored the first bucket, the Tritons went on a 9-0 run, which proved to be the difference in the 80-76 loss.
