GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions had an opportunity on the powerplay just 1:40 into the opening period but failed to score. Shortly after, Mercyhurst found the back of the net at the 7:06 mark to take a one goal lead. Five minutes later, the Lakers would light the lamp again making it 2-0 with just under seven minutes to play in the period. The Lions pushed back as
Megan Wagner continued her hot play, cutting the deficit in half with a powerplay tally two minutes later. The goal for Wagner marked her third in the last four games.Â

Â
Mercyhurst got off to a quick start in the second frame, regaining their two-goal lead just three minutes into the period. Once again, on the powerplay, the Lions had a response as

Mercyhurst would find success of their own on the powerplay as they found the back of the net at the 14:50 mark of the frame, taking back their two-goal lead. They would take that lead into the second intermission.
Â
The defense tightened up in the third period as each team had a combined six shots on goal halfway through the final frame. One of those shots found the back of the net for Mercyhurst, however as the Lakers extended their lead to 5-2 at the 11:35 mark. The Lakers went on to add one more goal in the third and would pick up the 6-2 victory.
