The Lindenwood women's soccer team (2-0-0, 2-0-0 GLVC) picked up its second consecutive shutout win to start the season. The offense was provided by
Mia Corrigan who netted her first goal of the season.
MATCH OVERVIEW
The opening 45 minutes of play was a strong defensive half by both teams as each team combined for just five shots on goal in the half, three for Lindenwood and two for Quincy, respectively. The best chance for the Lions came in the 26th minute when Corrigan headed the ball into the back of the net to give the Lions a one-goal advantage.Â
Kaitlyn Weinrich and
Maggie Weller picked up assists on the goal.
Lindenwood would carry the one-goal advantage into halftime.
Quincy created a great scoring chance just three minutes into the second half when the Hawks hit the crossbar, but
Sam Blazek was there to make the save on the second attempt. The Diamond Bar, Calif. native made two saves on the afternoon as Lindenwood protected the one-goal lead as she and
Megan Swanson once again combined for a shutout.
