Football Announces Signees on National Signing Day

Lindenwood football head coach Jed Stugart announced the 2021 signing class on Wednesday.  National Signing Day is the pinnacle of recruiting, and the Lions celebrated the day with the addition of 26 players to the program.

"The fact that we signed so many of our first-tier kids that we evaluated and offered early, and the number of guys that we signed makes us feel like this is one of the best recruiting classes top to bottom that we've had," said coach Stugart.

Lindenwood will add 21 high school seniors to the roster next year, 11 of which come from the state of Missouri.  Of the 11 from the state of Missouri, eight will stay home in the St. Charles and St. Louis area.  Lindenwood also brought in five transfers, as three will return home to their hometown.  The Lions brought in athletes from different spots in the country as well, nailing down a total of 26 recruits from nine different states.  The distribution of talent will spread evenly across the team, as Lindenwood brings in 13 players on defense with 13 on offense.

The five transfers will be available to participate immediately during the spring season.  The Lions open up with a scrimmage against Southwest Baptist on March 27.  Lindenwood will head to McKendree on April 3, before hosting its first home game against UIndy the following weekend.  The Lions will take on Quincy at Hunter Stadium to close out the regular season.  The final week of the season will be scheduled for April 24, as part of the GLVC Playoff Week.
