The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (1-0, 1-0 GLVC) secured its first victory of the season against Maryville (0-3, 0-3 GLVC), 3-0, on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Lions took the first set, 25-20, after finishing with nine kills.
• Lindenwood held a lead as large as six, 14-8, midway through the opening set.
• The Saints narrowed the gap to two, 19-17, on a kill by Rachel Hurts.
• The Lions would respond with a 3-1 run giving them a 23-18 lead.
• The closest of the three sets was the third, which ended up being a 27-25 Lindenwood win.
• The Lions notched 17 kills as a team in the second set.
• Lindenwood dominated in the final of the three sets, 25-11, finishing with 17 kills while limiting Maryville to six.

BOX SCORE LEADERS

• Sadie Kosciuk led the way with 12 kills. Hannah Borchelt added 10, and Amber Schade notched seven.
• Schade was tied with Jessie Seidel and Jenna Garrett for the team lead in service aces with two.
• Mackenzi Sifuentes recorded six blocks, which was a team-high.
• Allie Otten recorded 39 assists, which was a game-high.
• Seidel's 16 digs were the most of any competitor.

RECORD NOTES

• Kat Finnerty tied a career-high with eight digs.
• Otten recorded a career-best two kills and 39 assists.
