Winning Streak Snapped by Ohio University

Ohio University unceremoniously ended a Lions 12-game winning streak with a 3-0 shutout Friday night at the Bird Arena in Athens, Ohio.  It also gave Lindenwood its first blemish in the Central States Collegiate Hockey League (CSCHL) on the season.

The Lions had several more chances than the Bobcats through the first two periods, but could not get a puck to the back of the net.  Ohio finally sounded the horn with the first goal of the game at the 12:30 mark of the third.  The Bobcats added a second goal with 1:50 remaining in regulation and then clinched the game with an empty net tally after the Lions pulled Cooper Seedott for the extra attacker.

Lindenwood outshot Ohio 38-24 and Seedott stopped 21 of 23 shots in the hard-luck loss that dropped the Lions to 12-1-0 overall and to 6-1-0 in the CSCHL.  Lindenwood will try to salvage a split against the Bobcats Saturday night at the Bird Arena with an opening faceoff scheduled for 7 p.m. in Athens, Ohio.
