The Lindenwood men's volleyball team (4-7, 1-7 MIVA) halted its skid with a 3-1 victory against Quincy (4-7, 1-7 MIVA) on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lindenwood took the first set by a score of 25-17.
- As a team, the Lions registered 18 kills in the first set. The Hawks had a game-high of 14 in the third set, a number which Lindenwood bested in three of four sets.
- After trailing, 14-13, the Lions put together a 5-0 run to take an 18-14 lead. The team would not look back as they went up 1-0 in the match.
- The second set also went the Lions' way, 25-19, giving the team a 2-0 match lead.
- The squads went back-and-forth for most of the set, before the Lions gained a 24-19 lead, closing it out on a 4-1 run.
- Lindenwood finished the second set with 15 kills as a team.
- Quincy secured a third set victory by a score of 25-20.
- The Lions closed out the win against the Hawks with a fourth set victory, 25-18.
- Lindenwood held Quincy under 20 points in three of the four sets, including each set won by the Lions.
- The team also had 15 kills in the fourth set.
- Lindenwood registered a .410 hitting percentage as a unit, which was a season-high.
