The No. 15 Lindenwood men's lacrosse team picked up a commanding 16-9 win over No. 10 UIndy on Saturday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. This is the first win for the Lions over the Greyhounds in program history.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions were in control of the game from the opening faceoff, an area that
Jony Major and
Michael Miocic dominated in the first half, winning 13-of 16. As a result, Lindenwood outshot Indianapolis 23-10 in the half and led 10-4 after 30 minutes of play.
Carter Collins tallied five of his eight points in the half. The eight points (5 G, 3 A) for the Prior Lake, Minn. native is a season-high.
The Lions continued to maintain a solid lead across the second half, as the Lions outscored UIndy 6-5, while forcing 11 Greyhound turnovers in the half. Lindenwood's defense was stout all day as the team held UIndy to just 28 shots, while forcing 20 turnovers in the game on the way to a 16-9 victory.
