The No. 24 Lindenwood women's soccer team defeated Southwest Baptist (0-4-1, 0-4-1 GLVC) by a final score of 2-0 from Hunter Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Katie Juhlin and
Bailey Bologna scored for the Lions
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions were in total control from the opening whistle, dominating possession and scoring chances during the first 45 minutes of play. Bologna found the back of the net in the 10th minute as she took a nice pass from
Alaina White in the middle of the field, dribbled around the keeper and buried the shot. Lindenwood generated six corners in the opening half and carried the one-goal lead into halftime.
The second half was more of the same as Lindenwood outshot the Bearcats 15-1 and registered seven corner kicks to Southwest Baptist' zero. Due to all the pressure, the Lions were able to extend the lead in the 85th minute as Juhlin netted her second goal of the season off of a
Morgan Weller pass.
The Lions defense saw the game out to its 2-0 final score, capturing their fifth shutout of the season.
