Lindenwood softball (10-2-1, 5-1 GLVC) split its doubleheader against Truman State (5-11, 2-4 GLVC) on Saturday.
GAME ONE RECAP
The Lions took game one against Truman State in an extra inning affair, as
Amanda Weyh went all eight innings for Lindenwood, picking up her third pitching victory of the season. Weyh did not allow an earned run, while striking out seven batters, and allowing only six total baserunners.
For the first seven innings of the game, the Lions tallied just two base hits, and did not walk or reach on a hit by pitch.
Lindenwood's sole run in the game came in the top of the eighth, on a
Hannah Johnson single which scored
Ceairra Perez. Neither team was able to muster much at the plate, as both teams finished with four hits in the contest.
Weyh has pitched back-to-back complete game shutouts, with the previous coming against Quincy on Tuesday. The sophomore pitcher has four complete games in 2021, and two shutouts, giving her three shutouts for her career.

The Lions suffered a 6-3 loss in game two of the doubleheader against Truman State, as
Marina Esparza (4.2),
Madison Corwell (0.2), and
Brianna Macias (0.2) combined for six innings of six earned runs on the mound, with four strike outs, all coming from Esparza.
Karli Goocher and
Chloe Honchar led the team with two base hits, while
Hannah Johnson added a base hit and two RBIs against the Bulldogs.
Megan Clark and Honchar each added a stolen base in the contest.
Neither team recorded a base hit until the top of the third, on a Honchar single to left. The first Lindenwood run of the game came in the fourth, on a Johnson groundout to bring home Clark. The Lions would scratch across two more runs on a Goocher and Johnson single in the top of the fifth.
