Softball Swept in Road Doubleheader at William Jewell

Lindenwood softball (10-4-1, 5-3 GLVC) suffered a sweep in a doubleheader at William Jewell (4-12, 3-3 GLVC) on Sunday.

GAME ONE RECAP
The Lions suffered a one-run loss to William Jewell in game one of the doubleheader, 2-1.

Amanda Weyh was in the circle for Lindenwood, pitching six and-a-third innings, allowing two earned runs, and striking out eight. Weyh has fired 21.1 innings over a five-game span this week, allowing just two runs.

The team's lone run of the contest came in the top of the second frame. Stormee Galka lined a single to center field for a one-out base hit, and was followed by a Weyh walk to put runners on first and second with one down. After a popup to second, a two-out error by the Cardinals' first baseman allowed Galka to score to give Lindenwood a 1-0 advantage.

Lindenwood was held scoreless for the remainder of the bout, as William Jewell walked it off in the bottom of the seventh with a single to left center.
