No. 25 Women's Soccer Beats Maryville Behind Eight Saves From Sam Blazek

The No. 25 Lindenwood women's soccer team (7-0-2, 7-0-2 GLVC) improved its unbeaten streak to nine games with a 1-0 win over Maryville (4-1-3, 4-1-3 GLVC)

MATCH OVERVIEW
The Lions controlled play in the opening half, outshooting the Saints 9-2 during the first 45 minutes. Lindenwood also generated four corner kicks in the opening half, while Maryville had one,  The Lions capitalized on one of the corner kicks in the 11th minute when Alaina White sent a ball into the box that was met by Jill Wipke, as she headed towards the foot of Katie Juhlin who made no mistake and put the Lions ahead 1-0.

The Lions took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

Maryville made some adjustments to begin the half, as the Saints controlled the early play in the second half.  Despite the early pressure, goalkeeper Sam Blazek had the answer, keeping the game scoreless as the team kept the clean sheet for the seventh time this season. The Diamond Bar, Calif. native made six of her career-high eight saves in the second half.
