The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (5-4, 5-4 GLVC) picked up an upset win against No. 20 Drury (4-5, 4-5 GLVC), 3-2, as well a 3-0 sweep against Illinois Springfield (2-7, 2-7 GLVC) in Friday's tri-meet.

HOW IT HAPPENED IN MATCH ONE

• The Lions dominated the Prairie Stars en route to a 3-0 sweep on Friday.
• As a team, the Lions had 18 kills in the first two sets, and 15 in the third.
• Lindenwood jumped out to a 7-2 lead early in the opening set.
• A 6-1 run to end the first set gave the Lions the early 1-0 advantage.
• After the Prairie Stars took the first point in the second set, the Lions would score nine of the next 11 points to hold a 9-3 lead.
• The Lions did not trail past the 2-2 mark in the second set.
• With the third set at 19-14 in favor of Lindenwood, the team capped off a victory against UIS with a 6-1 run to close things out.
• The Lions have won back-to-back matches for the first time since Oct. 18, 2019.

BOX SCORE LEADERS IN MATCH ONE

• Hannah Borchelt paced the squad with 12 kills. Kat Finnerty had 10, and Mackenzi Sifuentes recorded nine.
• Amber Schade, Jessie Seidle, and Allie Otten each recorded a service ace.
• Makenzi Sifuentes led the Lions with four blocks. Hannah Borchelt had three, and Allie Otten tallied two.
• Allie Otten had a team-high 39 assists in the victory.
• Jessie Seidel noched 15 digs to lead Lindenwood.

• 1st | Lindenwood 25, Illinois Springfield 16
• 2nd | Lindenwood 25, Illinois Springfield 15
• 3rd | Lindenwood 25, Illinois Springfield 15

HOW IT HAPPENED IN MATCH TWO

• The Lions led, or were tied with Drury, for kills in all five sets.
• Twice, Lindenwood recorded 15 kills, with the Panthers' highest-total for any set being 12.
• The Lions tied up the first set, 21-21, before the Panthers took four of the final six points to start 1-0 in the match.
• The second set went Lindenwood's way, 25-22.
• The Lions jumped out to an 8-1 lead in the second set.
• Drury went up 2-1 in the match with a third set victory by a score of 25-18.
• With a chance to push it to a fifth set, the Lions took a 19-13 lead in the fourth, and did not look back.
• The Panthers closed the gap in the final set to one point, 10-9, but the Lions scored four of the next six points to take the match in upset fashion.
• The Lions have two ranked wins this season. Prior to this season, Lindenwood's last ranked victory came at No. 22 Augustana (SD) on Aug. 31, 2018.

BOX SCORE LEADERS IN MATCH TWO

• Sadie Kosciuk had a team-best 13 kills. Hannah Borchelt and Mackenzi Sifuentes both followed up with 12 kills.
• Kat Finnerty recorded a team-high four aces.
• Mackenzi Sifuentes led the Lions with 11 blocks.
• Allie Otten notched a Lindenwood-best 52 assists.
• Jessie Seidel led the way for the team with 31 digs.
