The No. 6 Lindenwood baseball team (4-0, 0-0 GLVC) swept Truman State (0-4, 0-0 GLVC) on Sunday with a 12-2 victory at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Bulldogs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after the top of the first inning, but Jacob Thompson made adjustments to keep Truman State off the board for the next four innings.  Lindenwood tied the game in the bottom of the first inning with the help of an-RBI single by Schulte.  Later in the inning, Schulte scored on a wild pitch to make it a 2-2 ballgame after one inning of play.  The Lions took the lead in the third inning, as Alex Canty drove in a run on a sacrifice fly, and Austin Schmitt brought a run across the plate with his single to left field.

With a two-run lead, the Lions poured on four runs in the fourth inning to extend the advantage.  Brennan Fitzpatrick drew a walk with the bases loaded to make it a 5-2 lead, before Canty added two more runs with his hard-hit single up the middle.  The Lions were able to score a run later in the inning on an error by the Bulldogs, resulting in an 8-2 lead after four innings.  Thompson closed out his day after five innings of work, as he allowed just two hits since the two-run first inning for Truman State.

Fitzpatrick drove in a run in the fifth inning on a sacrifice fly, while Beau Collier scored a run in the seventh to give Lindenwood a 10-2 lead.  The Lions closed out the game after Schulte hit a triple to left center, which brought across the two runs needed to end the game in the eighth inning.
