The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (11-7, 11-7 GLVC) ended the regular season with a four set loss to No. 8 Missouri-St. Louis (15-2, 15-2 GLVC), 3-1, on Saturday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions fought No. 8 Missouri-St. Louis for four sets on Saturday.
- The opening set was won by the Tritons, 25-15.
- Missouri-St. Louis finished with 13 kills to Lindenwood's 11.
- The second set was dominated by the Lions, 25-21. The team had a match-best 18 kills in the second.
- The Tritons were held to just eight kills in the second set.
- Lindenwood finished with 14 and 16 kills in the third and fourth sets, respectively. However, Missouri-St. Louis won both of those to take the match victory.
- Lindenwood totaled more points than UMSL in the match, 65-63. The Lions also had 10 more kills than the Tritons, 59-49.
- The Lions recorded 55 assists to the Tritons' 46, and had 84 digs in the match.
- Lindenwood will travel to East Peoria, Ill. for the conference tournament, beginning next Friday.
- In neutral site games this season, the Lions own a 3-0 record.
