Lindenwood softball (19-5-1, 12-4 GLVC) dominated a road doubleheader at Missouri S&T (5-21, 4-10 GLVC), picking up wins by scores of 10-0 and 9-1.
GAME ONE RECAP
Amanda Weyh fired four scoreless innings in a win over Missouri S&T, allowing four base hits and no walks, and striking out six.
Marina Esparza came on in relief and worked a scoreless frame. Weyh moves to 8-3 on the campaign with a 0.93 ERA.
The Lions offense broke out for 10 runs on 16 base hits and two walks in game one of the two-game set. The team scored two runs early, on a first inning double from
Whitney Wendel to score
Ceairra Perez, and a
Karli Goocher sacrifice fly out to drive in
Stormee Galka.
Lindenwood put together a five-run second inning, after doubles from
Taylor Bushman, Perez, and Wendel (two-run), as well as a single up the middle off of the bat of
Amanda Weyh. In the second inning, the Lions tallied six base hits as a team.
The team would score three more runs in the game, with one coming in the third inning on a Bushman RBI single, and the final two on a Galka double to left field and a Wendel single up the middle. It marks the fourth time that the Lions have eclipsed 10 or more runs in a game, this season.

GAME TWO RECAP
Marina Esparza made her first start since March 20, going five innings for a complete game win, allowing just one run and striking out two.
Megan Clark hit her first home run of the season, and first since 2018, in the Lions' third win in-a-row. The team scored nine runs on eight hits and two walks in the game, nearly matching their first game total of 10 runs.
After going down, 1-0, after one inning, the Lions scored seven times in the second to take a large lead. An error and a bases loaded walk gave Lindenwood a 2-1 lead, and
Taylor Bushman,
Ceairra Perez, and
Stormee Galka hit back-to-back-to-back RBI singles to push the lead to 6-1.
Karli Goocher would add on a sacrifice fly out to hit the 7-1 mark after two innings.
In the third inning, another Miners' error allowed Clark to score to extend the Lindenwood lead to 8-1. The final run of the game came on Clark's solo home run, the first of the season for the infielder. Over the team's last three games, they are outscoring opponents 27-1.
