The No. 2 Lindenwood baseball team (16-2, 12-2 GLVC) eared a pair of victories over UIndy (13-13, 11-7 GLVC) on Tuesday at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions tallied a 13-4 win in the first game, before closing out the night with a 12-4 victory.
GAME ONE OVERVIEW
Lindenwood opened the scoring in the second game after
Alex Canty drove in
Beau Collier on a single to left field. The Lions piled on the runs in the bottom of the third inning, as
Mitchell Krebs doubled to left center which brought across a pair of runs.
Bryce Beckmann made it a 4-0 ballgame with a sacrifice fly to centerfield. Canty led off the fourth inning with a double to left center, and later scored on a double by
Will Lanxon. After stealing third base, Lanxon came across to score on a sacrifice fly by
Kolby Schulte. Krebs scored late in the inning on a fielding error by the Greyhounds to put the Lions up 7-0.
UIndy tallied three runs in the top of the fifth, but the Lions immediately responded at the plate. Lindenwood scored a in the bottom of the fifth on a wild pitch, and another on a fielding error by UIndy. The Greyhounds were able to get one run in the top of the sixth, but the Lions put the game to rest in the bottom of the frame. Lindenwood continued to take advantage of fielding miscues by UIndy, as Beckmann scored on a throwing error.
Alex Gauspohl drove in a run on a pinch-hit single to left field, before
Austin Schmitt brought another run across on a groundout. Gauspohl scored the final run of the game to cap off a 13-4 victory in the first game.

GAME TWO OVERVIEW
The Greyhounds jumped on the board first, taking a 4-0 lead after two innings. All four runs surrendered were unearned, and the Lindenwood pitching staff pitched near-perfect for the remainder of the game. Krebs cut the deficit to 4-1 after an RBI single to bring in
Jack Lochner. Lindenwood continued to chip away as a double to left center by Canty made it a 4-2 lead for the Greyhounds. The Lions took the lead in the bottom of the fifth due in large part to patience at the plate.
Calvin Nowak drew a bases-loaded walk to bring the Lions within one run, and Lindenwood took the lead on another fielding error by UIndy.
Beckmann scored the go-ahead run on a groundout by Canty, making it a 5-4 Lindenwood lead. The Lions erupted for seven runs in the sixth inning, which started with a sacrifice fly by Krebs. Nowak drove in a run on a single, and Canty brought across a couple runs on a double to right center. Schmitt hammered the ball up the middle to bring in two more runs, as Schulte drove in the final run on a single through the right side. Lindenwood completed the doubleheader sweep with a 12-4 win on Tuesday.
