The No. 10 Lindenwood baseball team (18-3, 14-3 GLVC) swept Saturday's doubleheader over McKendree (12-15, 5-14 GLVC) by scores of 7-3 and 8-7, respectively in Lebanon, Ill.

GAME ONE OVERVIEW
McKendree continued to have the upper hand on the Lions early, as the Bearcats tallied three runs in the bottom of the second inning.Â
Blake Beckmann put his foot down for the remainder of his outing, and compiled 11 strikeouts in his six innings of work. Beckmann tied the school record for wins in a career during the NCAA era with 19, while he tallied 11 strikeouts for the third time in his career. Lindenwood broke through in the top of the fourth inning after
Mitchell Krebs scored with no outs.Â
Alex Canty brought in a run on a groundout, and
Calvin Nowak scored on a perfectly executed double steal to tie the game at 3-3.

Bryce Beckmann hit a one-out double in the top of the sixth, before scoring on a triple to left center by Nowak.Â
Beau Collier registered an RBI on the next at bat after he doubled to right field. The Lions added more runs in the seventh inning, as Beckmann posted a sacrifice fly to score
Jack Lochner. Collier drew a bases-loaded walk to put the Lions in front 7-3.Â
Justin Taylor shut the door in the bottom of the seventh, as he struck out the final two batters of the game.

GAME TWO OVERVIEW
Lindenwood the first lead of the game in the top of the third, as both runs were scored with two outs.Â
Kolby Schulte drove in Canty on a single, and later scored on a single by Krebs. McKendree cut its deficit in half after the bottom of the third, and took a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the fifth.Â

Lindenwood quickly responded in the top of the sixth, as the scoring started with a bases-loaded walk by Collier.Â
Sam Kissane was plunked on the next pitch to bring in another run to tie the game at 4-4. Canty put the Lions back on top with a two-RBI double to left center. Lindenwood two more runs by way of wild pitches, ending the inning in an 8-4 lead for the Lions. Lindenwood surrendered three runs in the seventh inning, but held on for the 8-7 victory in game two.
