MATCH OVERVIEW
Chances were hard to come by in the first half, as each team was strong defensively. The Lions put five shots on goal in the opening half but were unable to find the back of the net.
The game remained scoreless at halftime.
Lindenwood started the second half strong, possessing the ball and setting up the attack. The Lions generated eight shots toward the McKendree net, including four on frame, but the Bearcats keeper made some key saves including a pair midway through the half that kept the game scoreless. The Lions also generated two corner kicks in the half but couldn't break through as the game headed into overtime 0-0.
Four minutes into the overtime session, McKendree was able to steal the ball in the middle of the field and bury a shot into the top left corner from about 30 yards out to earn the 1-0 victory.
