Weyh Pitcher Perfect in Softball's 8-0 Win Over Lewis

Lindenwood softball (17-5-1, 10-4 GLVC) split a doubleheader with Lewis (13-10, 6-6 GLVC), as Amanda Weyh fired a perfect game in an 8-0 game two win.

GAME ONE RECAP
Stormee Galka went the distance in game one with seven innings of no earned run softball. Galka struck out eight batters and did not walk a Lewis hitter. She falls to 6-1 on the season, and now has five complete games.

The Lions scratched across just two hits in the contest, while walking three times, and reaching on one hit by pitch. Chloe Honchar was the sole player in the matchup to steal a base.

Lindenwood was shutout for the second time in the 2021 season.

GAME ONE LEADERS GAME TWO RECAP
Amanda Weyh picked up the second perfect game of her career, and first of the season, with a dominant showing in the Lions' game two win over the Flyers. Weyh set down all 15 batters she faced, while striking out one, and moving to 7-3 on the season. Weyh has lowered her ERA to a miniscule 0.98, which leads the club.

After being held to just two hits in the opener of the doubleheader, the Lions broke out for eight runs on 10 hits and two walks. The team set the tone early with a four-run first frame that saw them tally four hits.

In the bottom of the second, Lindenwood brought home two more runs, to extend the lead to 6-0. With one run in the bottom of the fourth, and a run in the fifth, the Lions were able to run rule the Flyers to even the series.

The Lions finished with two or more base hits in four of the five innings.
