The No. 1 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team (13-0, 7-0 GLVC) picked up a 16-6 win over Rockhurst (6-6, 4-3 GLVC) in the semifinal round of the GLVC women's lacrosse Championship Tournament on Friday afternoon from Lebanon, Ill.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Lions jumped out to quick 4-0 lead just over five minutes into the game and ended up taking a 9-1 lead into halftime.
Erin McGuire picked up a pair of goals in the first half, while
Emma Arnold led the team with three assists during the first 30 minutes of play. In the half, the Lions outshot the Hawks 18-7, while scooping up 15 ground balls and forcing nine Rockhurst turnovers.
Lindenwood outscored Rockhurst 9-7 in the second half, including a pair of goals from Arnold. The Lions compiled nine draw controls in the half, while registering 19 shots on goal. The Lions were also strong on the defensive side of the ball, causing 12 turnovers in the win, led by
Hailey Dobbins who tallied four.
