The Lindenwood football team (0-2) will return home on Saturday to host Kentucky Wesleyan (1-1) at Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. for a 7:00 p.m. kick off.
Lindenwood is looking to bounce back from its second loss this season, after falling to NCAA Division I FCS #3 South Dakota State last week.Â
Cade Brister connected with
Payton Rose on a 37-yard touchdown as the only score of the game for the Lions.
Spencer Redd has provided a big spark for the Lions, as the 5-9 sophomore is proving to be a threat in the return game. Redd is averaging 28.7 yards per kickoff return, after notching a 67-yard return against South Dakota State.
Nash Sutherlin is up to 10 catches and 23 rushing attempts on the season, for a total of 96 yards of offense. The Columbia, Mo. native is responsible for nearly 30 percent of the team's receptions, and nearly 40 percent of the team's rushes.
Drew Seers is leading the defensive unit with 19 total tackles, including 2.0 tackles for loss.Â
Tre' Hendon has compiled 2.5 tackles for loss, with 1.5 sacks and a total of 11 tackles.
The Lions will host Kentucky Wesleyan for the first matchup between the two programs. The Panthers are 1-1 on the year after a slim 26-25 win over Kentucky State last weekend. Christian Arrambide is leading the team in the passing game with 386 yards and three scores. Arrambide has added 21 yards on the ground, and scored the only rushing touchdown for the Panthers.
In 2019, Lindenwood lost its first home game, but rattled off five-straight victories at Hunter Stadium. The Lions will host Family Day on Saturday, before going on a two-game road trip.
