The Lindenwood men's soccer team (0-4-0, 0-3-0 GLVC) fell by a score of 2-0 to Illinois Springfield (4-2-0, 3-0-0 GLVC) on Sunday afternoon from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lions struggled to get any momentum going in the opening half, registering just five shots, while the Prairie Starts compiled 13. Illinois Springfield was able to capitalize on one of those chances in the 30th minute taking a 1-0 lead with 15 minutes to play in the opening half.
Despite the goal, goalkeeper
Janik Kraft kept the Lions in it, making eight saves across the first 45 minutes of play, but Lindenwood found itself down 1-0 at the halftime break.
Lindenwood made some adjustments in the locker room and started to settle into the game at the beginning of the second half. The Lions compiled five-straight shot attempts, including two on frame during a 20-minute stretch in the half. The best one of those chances was in the 68th minute when
Gabriel Herrera hit the crossbar on a free kick for the second time in the game.
Illinois Springfield found the back of the net just four minutes later, extending its lead to 2-0 with just under 20 minutes to go in the second half.
The Prairie Starts would hold onto their lead for the remainder of the game and pick up the victory.
