The Lindenwood women's soccer team (3-3-0, 3-1-0 GLVC) defeated William Jewell (0-6-1, 0-4-0 GLVC) 2-0 on Friday night from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions compiled 28 shots, including 10 on goal, while generating 19 corner kicks in the match.
MATCH OVERVIEW
Lindenwood was in control of this game from the opening kickoff as the Lions outshot the Cardinals 9-2, including five shots on goal to none for the opposition. The Lions generated all seven corner kicks in the opening half.
The Lions broke through in the 16th minute when
Maggie Weller got onto the ball in the middle of the field, taking a pass from goalkeeper
Sam Blazek, dribbled around two defenders and took a left foot strike from about 15 yards out that found the back of the net.
Lindenwood took a 1-0 lead into halftime.
The Lions kept up the pressure in the second half, adding to their lead less than 10 minutes in.Â
Emily Burton found the back of the net for the second time in as many games.

Across the second half, Lindenwood registered 19 shots, including 10 on frame. The Lions rolled to their third-consecutive victory, earning a 2-0 win.
