The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (7-3, 2-0 GLVC) completed a comeback win over GLVC-foe Southwest Baptist (5-7, 1-3 GLVC) on Saturday.
MATCH OVERVIEW
In the Lions' fourth five-set match in their first 10 games, Lindenwood secured a 3-2 victory against conference-foe Southwest Baptist, which included a fourth set comeback to push it to five sets.
After dropping the opening set to the opposition, 26-24, the Lions responded with a dominant 25-8 second set victory to tie the match at 1-1. The Bearcats were held to a -.088 hitting percentage in the second set, while the Lions finished with 10 kills on a .308 hitting percentage. Lindenwood capped off the second with a 12-1 run to even up the match.
Entering the fourth set down 2-1, the two teams traded runs for the entirety of the set. After trailing late, 29-28, Lindenwood rattled off three-straight points to even the match and push it to a fifth set. The Lions totaled 16 kills in the fourth set to the Bearcat's 19.
Lindenwood wasted no time finishing off the match, after taking the final set, 15-9. The Bearcats were held to five kills and a -.033 attack percentage in the final set. The Lions earned their first extra-set victory of the campaign.
