Lindenwood field hockey (5-4) picked up a win over NCAA Division I opponent Saint Louis (1-9, 0-2 A10), 3-2, on Tuesday.
GAME OVERVIEW
Entering halftime, the Lions were up 2-0, as
Pauline Terwindt scored two first half goals for the team. The first goal for Terwindt, coming off of a
Marnie Reidell assist, was scored 9:51 into the contest. Her other goal came with just over six minutes left in the first half off of an assist from
Mia Simpson.
After a Billikens goal midway through the fourth quarter,
Allie Hosto tacked on an insurance goal off an
Annick Giebels assist to put Lindenwood up 3-1 over Saint Louis.
Kyla Cooke earned first first-career win in her first collegiate start against Saint Louis.
The Lions were outshot, 23-8, and 11-5 on shots on goal against the Billikens. Lindenwood recorded seven more saves, 9-2, as the defense stepped up to secure the win.
