The Lions earned the No. 2 spot in the first American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) Men's Division I Ranking of the 2021-22 season.
Lindenwood received six first place votes and 387 points overall to finish just behind reigning national champion Adrian College. The Bulldogs received 14 first place votes and 395 points overall after sweeping the University of Cincinnati 8-1 and 7-0 in their first series of the year.
Liberty University claimed the No. 3 spot after winning its first game of the season, followed by Minot State in fourth, and Iowa State in fifth. The Beavers have yet to play a game while the Cyclones improved to 4-0-0 after sweeping Midland University in a home-and-home series.
The Central States Collegiate Hockey League led all conferences with four of five teams ranked. In addition to the Lions and Cyclones, Ohio University is seventh, while Illinois is 15th.
After sweeping Missouri State at home to improve to 2-0-0, the Lions will get an early season test as they travel to Denver, Colorado to face Denver University October 2. The puck drops at 6 p.m. (MDT) Magness Arena.
