Game Recap: Women's Hockey |

Lions Drop Tough Battle To Mercyhurst 3-1

The Lindenwood women's hockey team returned to CHA action and lost to Mercyhurst 3-1 on Friday night in Erie, PA.  The Lions (5-16-0, 3-4-0 CHA) fell behind early and battled back with a goal mid-way through the third period and looked to gain some momentum, but the Lakers' (15-7-2, 5-2-0 CHA) early offense proved too much for the Lions to overcome.

GAME OVERVIEW
Mercyhurst jumped out on the scoreboard early with three goals in the first period. The teams battled back and forth for a fairly uneventful second period, then Lindenwood sophomore Thea Jørgensen put the Lions on the board with an even-strength goal mid-way through the third. Jorgensen found the back of the net for her first goal of the season off a feed from Valerie Caldwell and Casey Adimey.  The Lions dominated the third period, outshooting the Lakers 27-16 and won 12-of-16 faceoffs in the period, but time ran out on the Lions to give Mercyhurst the victory.

GAME LEADERS
