The Lindenwood women's basketball team (7-6, 4-2 GLVC) lost 73-68 to Lewis (4-9, 2-3 GLVC) on Monday in Romeoville, Ill., ending a five-game winning streak.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood found success early in the game, as
Alana Striverson hit a three-point shot at the 6:54 mark to make it a seven-point lead. The Lions continued their multi-possession lead for a few minutes, before Lewis knocked down a three pointer to make it a 13-12 Lindenwood lead. The Flyers held a short-lived lead, before the Lions closed out the first quarter up 19-17. Lindenwood put together another quick start to begin the second frame, as another three pointer by Striverson resulted in a 25-17 advantage.Â

Mary McGrath hit big shots from behind the arc to keep Lindenwood in the positive, as the first half game to a close with Lindenwood up by a margin of 34-32.

Lewis made some key changes at the half, and in showed as the Flyers took a 42-35 lead at the 6:40 mark. Lindenwood closed the gap, but couldn't regain the lead in the third quarter, as Lewis took a 50-47 lead heading into the final quarter. The Lions stayed within striking distance, but a three pointer by the Flyers extended their lead to seven points near the halfway point. McCorkle knocked down a three-point shot with 34 seconds to go in the game to make it a two-point ball game. Lewis made seven free throws in the final minute to hang on for the 73-68 win over the Lions.

Julia Ruzevich keeps her double-double streak alive, as she compiled 18 points with 11 rebounds.Â
Gracie Neff hit just one three pointer in the game, but dished out seven assists and grabbed three boards. Monday's loss snaps a five-game winning streak, as the Lions had won seven of their previous eight games.
