The Lindenwood women's basketball team (8-7, 5-3 GLVC) ran out of gas in a 57-47 loss to Truman State (13-5, 9-1 GLVC) on Saturday afternoon inside Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

OVERVIEW
The Lions jumped out to a hot start, taking a 7-0 lead by the 5:46 mark.Â
Julia Ruzevich knocked down a three-point shot less than a minute later to extend the lead to 12-3. Lindenwood built an 11-point lead in the quarter, but Truman State closed the gap to 18-12 after 10 minutes of play. The Lions shot 53.3 percent in the opening frame, and held the Bulldogs to just 27.8 percent. Lindenwood continued to play great on the defensive end, and teetered back-and-forth with a double-digit lead. The Lions struggled from the field in the second quarter, but still held a six-point lead at the half.

Truman State came out strong to start the second half, as the Bulldogs knocked down the first seven points to take a 32-31 lead. The Bulldogs outscored the Lions 18-9 in the third quarter, as they forced Lindenwood into five turnovers. Truman State took a 43-40 lead into the final frame, and continued to push the pace. The Lions registered their first points of the fourth quarter at the 3:28 mark, as the Bulldogs clawed their way back to a 57-47 win on Saturday.
