The Lindenwood women's basketball team (9-7, 6-3 GLVC) shot the ball well on Thursday, resulting in a 73-60 win over Southwest Baptist (10-9, 5-6 GLVC) in Bolivar, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood took charge in the early portion of the first quarter, but the Bearcats shifted momentum back by tying the game at 8-8 with 4:34 left in the opening frame. The offensive production slowed for the remainder of the quarter, however, the Lions were up 13-10 at the break.

Lindenwood hit the gas to being the second frame, as a three pointer by
Alana Striverson put the Lions up 18-12. Southwest Baptist answered for a couple of possessions, but
Julia Ruzevich was hot from all areas of the court. Ruzevich scored seven-straight points for the Lions before
Devin Fuhring drained a three-point bucket at the 2:49 mark to make it a 31-20 ballgame. Another three pointer by Fuhring late in the half extended the lead, as the Lions held a 36-27 advantage after two quarters of play.

Lindenwood shot 5-of-9 from behind the arc in the first half, while Ruzevich already had a double-double with 14 points and 14 boards. The Lions shared the ball well for eight assists, but the Bearcats were still within striking distance.

Lindenwood held the Bearcats for nearly two minutes to start the second half, but the shots began to fall which cut into the lead. Less than two minutes later, Southwest Baptist made it a one-point game with the Lions clinging to a 39-38 lead. Lindenwood settled down and found its offensive production with the help of solid free-throw shooting. After the Bearcats shot 57.1 percent in the third quarter, the Lions still had a 57-52 lead.

Paige Craft knocked down a three pointer quickly in the fourth quarter, and
Ellen McCorkle reached double digits with her layup to make it a 10-point game. Lindenwood continued its strong shooting night, as the charity stripe was kind in the 73-60 win on Thursday. The Lions shot 20-of-23 from the free-throw line, and 7-of-15 from three-point range. Ruzevich ended her night with a memorable 26 point and 23 rebound night. Fuhring compiled 15 points, while dishing out three assists, and grabbing one steal.
