Roller hockey won the AAA Championship at the TORHS Winter Classic with a 4-1 victory over the Lizards Sunday evening at Vetta 70 in St. Peters, Missouri.
Nick DellaMorte earned the Top Scorer award at the event, which began on January 20. The Lions faced the Lizards on Thursday and fell 3-2 in a shootout. Lindenwood rebounded with a 3-2 win over Carshield in another shootout on Saturday, then outlasted Tour Country Puck 2-1 later in the day.
The TORHS Winter Classic was a non-collegiate tournament. The Lions return to collegiate competition February 5-6 when they travel to Palatine, Illinois for several games in the Midwest Collegiate Roller Hockey League. A final schedule is still pending, but all games will take place at Hat Trick Hockey.Â
