ST. CHARLES, MO. - The Lindenwood field hockey team lost 1-4 to Appalachian State in a home game at MICDS on Monday afternoon.
GAME OVERVIEW
The Appalachian State Mountaineers were tough right out of the gate, maintaining possession despite the Lions' hard fought defensive efforts. The opposing squad scored the first four goals of the game, putting
Leah Brozovich to the test, who came up to make some big saves regardless of the loss. The sophomore goalkeeper tallied 12 saves during her 60 minutes in net, fighting hard to keep the Lions in the game.Â
Allie Hosto was able to find the back of the net with just a few minutes remaining in the game, scoring off a nicely placed penalty corner from fellow captain
Isabella Shannon. The Lions were able to finally rob the Mountaineers of their shutout just in time before the game ended, but were unable to finish the remainder of their scoring chances.
