For the second week in a row, Lindenwood football quarterback
Cade Brister earned FedEx Ground FCS Honorable Mention National Player of the Week recognition. Brister was named OVC Offensive Player of the Week on Sunday as he helped lead the Lions to a 37-34 win over Eastern Illinois in double overtime on Saturday.
Brister put up great numbers in Saturday's double-overtime win over Eastern Illinois on the road. The O'Fallon, Mo. native was 28-for-42 passing with 302 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Brister added 79 yards and one score with his legs to account for 381 yards of total offense, and had a hand in four touchdowns scored by the Lions. The Fort Zumwalt North product has now thrown for 300-plus yards in five-straight games, and has 15 total touchdowns in the last three weeks.
Lindenwood returns to the field on Saturday as the Lions host Murray State for homecoming at 1:00 p.m. from Hunter Stadium in St. Charles, Mo.
