The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (7-13, 4-7 OVC) fell in three sets to UT Martin (16-9, 10-2 OVC) on Saturday afternoon from Marin, Tenn.
GAME OVERVIEW
Lindenwood dropped the first set 25-18, despite recording 16 kills as a team and hitting .368. The Lions found themselves down early, 14-7 and were unable to claw their way back in the opening set. Lindenwood jumped out to a 6-3 lead in the second set with the help of
Rebecca Janke who led the Lions with 14 kills on the match.
The Skyhawks regained momentum going up 15-11 in the set, but Lindenwood clawed back, rattling off six of the next nine points in the set to take 17-16 lead. Down three late in the set, UT Matin compiled six straight points to take the second set 25-22.
The third set was back and forth as
Taylor Gentemann tied it 11-11 with an ace. UT Matyin was able to take control again late, recording four straight points to end the set and take the match 25-18, 25-22, 25-18.
