The Lindenwood women's volleyball team (7-14, 4-8 OVC) lost in five sets to SIUE (11-12, 6-6 OVC) by a final of 3-2 inside Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.

OVERVIEW
The Lions played even with the Cougars in the opening set, but they pulled ahead to an 18-13.Â
Mackenzi Sifuentes helped the Lions to three-straight points after a kill and two assisted blocks.Â
Taylor Gentemann registered two kills late in the set, while
Amber Schade closed out the first frame with a kill in the 25-19 win to open the night. Lindenwood fell behind 9-6 in the second set, but roared back to take a 15-11 lead. After falling behind 21-10,
Madilyn Dement had a hand in the final two points in a 25-23 victory, and giving the Lions a 2-0 lead in the match.

Lindenwood continued momentum into the early stage of the third set with a 5-1 advantage. SIUE responded and gained a 24-17. The Lions rattled off four-consecutive points on three aces by Gentemann, but it was too little too late in the 25-21 loss in the third set. The Cougars took the fourth set in a commanding 25-14 win, pushing the match to a fifth set.

The final set was back-and-forth, as neither team pulled away until later in the set. Sifuentes registered a kill to tie the game at 11-11, but the Cougars came out with a 15-11 set win to earn the 3-2 win over Lindenwood.
