Johannes Scores in Loss For Men's Hockey

The Lindenwood men's hockey team (2-8-0) fell in the series finale to Bentley (2-5-0, 0-0-0 AHA), 3-1 on Saturday afternoon from Waltham, Mass.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Falcons scored a minute into the game, taking an early 1-0 lead. The game continued with that score for most of the period until Hunter Johannes found the back of the net, assisted by Cade DeSrefani and Kabore Dunn, tying the game 1-1 at the 13:37 mark. Bentley grabbed a late lead, scoring with three seconds left in the period to take a 2-1 advantage after the first intermission.

The defenses tightened up in the second period, as there were 18 total shots on goal by both teams. Both goalies were sharp as well, making every save, as Trent Burnham stopped all 11, he faced in the middle frame. The score remained 2-1 after 40 minutes of play.

Bentley extended its lead early in the third frame, finding the back of the net at the 2:22 mark. Lindenwood had plenty of opportunities to claw back, generating three powerplay opportunities and 14 shots on goal in the final frame, but the Lions were unable to draw any closer, as they fell in the series finale 3-1.
