Gabriel Herrera of the Lindenwood men's soccer team was named 2022 Academic All-District First Team, as selected by College Sports Communicators. The award recognizes the top-student athletes for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.

Herrera, a business major finished the year, with 11 games played, including 10 starts. The native of Talca, Chile was a key cog in the Lindenwood back line before suffering an injury late in the year. In those 11 games, Herrera played all 90 minutes in seven of them.

Academic All-District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
