Ferenc Makes 61 Saves in Loss to No. 1 Ohio State

The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-15-0, 2-4-0 CHA) fell in the series opener to No. 1 Ohio State (17-2-2. 13-2-1 WCHA) by a score of 9-1 on Friday night from Centene Community Ice Center.

GAME OVERVIEW
Natalie Ferenc was strong to open the game, stopping the first six shots against as Lindenwood earned an early powerplay, but were unable to score. Ohio State found the back of the net at the 5:57 mark of the period, grabbing a 1-0 lead. The Buckeyes went on to score three more goals in the period, going up 4-0 after one period of play.

Ferenc continued her strong play in the second period, stopping 21 of 22 shots against in the middle frame. The Buckeyes added to their lead at the 9:08 mark of the period as they grabbed a commanding 5-0 lead after 40 minutes.

Ohio State scored the first three goals of the final period, but Lindenwood kept battling as Chlloe Corbin broke the shutout assisted by Morgan Neitzke and Rachel Goff. The game finished 9-1 as the Buckeyes picked up the victory in the series opener.
