Women's Hockey Blanked by No. 1 Ohio State

The Lindenwood women's hockey team (2-16-0, 2-4-0 CHA) dropped the series finale with No. 1 Ohio State (18-2-2, 13-2-1 WCHA) by a score of 6-0 on Saturday afternoon.

GAME OVERVIEW
The Buckeyes grabbed an early lead, finding the back of the net 1:12 into the game. Ohio State kept up the pressure throughout the period, but Julia Maguire stood strong, making 22 saves in the opening period. OSU would find the back of the net two more times in the frame, grabbing a 3-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.

The Lions found an offensive spark to begin the middle frame, generating a few quality chances, while earning a powerplay, but they were unable to find the back of the net. The Buckeyes would net two more goals late in the second period, taking a 5-0 lead after two periods.

Maguire stopped 22-of-23 shots in the third period, as she finished the day with 66 saves. Lindenwood was unable to break the shutout as they fell by a score of 6-0.
