Women's Lacrosse Grabs Second Road Victory In a Row

The Lindenwood women's lacrosse team beat Northern Michigan 19-9 on Friday in Marquette, Michigan.

OVERVIEW
The Lions went on a seven-goal scoring run, starting with Lexy Biller in the first minute of the game for the second week in a row. Biller then turned around and assisted Logann Eldredge four minutes later. Eldredge scored another shortly after, and the other four goals came from Emma Arnold (2), Bridget Considine and Lindsey Smith. The Wildcats finally scored in the last three minutes of the first period, and after another Northern Michigan goal, the Lions went into the second leading 7-2.

The Wildcats got the first goal in the second, but Paige Sutton answered with her first goal of the game a few minutes later. Considine went on to net two more, while Arnold grabbed another as well. Meredith Parry got her first of the game, as did Sophia Defransesco shortly after. Eleanor Kast played a strong two periods, making four big saves. The rest of Lindenwood's defense held strong too, scooping up 12 ground balls and causing six Wildcat turnovers before the half. 

In the third, Considine, Arnold, Eldredge and Biller each picked up another goal for themselves. Kast made five more saves, and Lindenwood went up 17-5 before the fourth.

Chloe Elliott scored for the Lions in the fourth, and Clara Gallapoo got her first goal of the season in the last 21 seconds of the game, scoring the Lions' 19th and final goal of the night. The Lions finished the game with 36 shots total and held the Wildcats to only 23. Lindenwood also scooped up 16 ground balls, playing consistently solid offense and defense.
