The Lindenwood women's basketball team (9-14, 6-10 GLVC) lost a tough game to No. 18 Missouri-St. Louis (20-3, 16-2 GLVC) by a final of 67-56 on Saturday afternoon in St. Louis, Mo.

GAME OVERVIEW
Julia Ruzevich came out on fire to start the game, as she scored the first seven points for the Lions.Â
Ellen McCorkle knocked down a three-point bucket at the 5:23 mark of the first quarter to give Lindenwood a 10-3 lead. The Tritons tried to cut into the Lindenwood lead, but a three-pointer by
Alana Striverson kept it a multi-possession lead. The Lions held on to a slim 19-15 lead after 10 minutes of play.

Missouri-St. Louis chipped away at its deficit and tied the game 25-25. Lindenwood regained a four-point lead after a couple of free throws and a layup near the halfway point of the second quarter. The two teams traded the lead in the final few minutes, as the Tritons held a 32-31 advantage at the break.

The second half favored the Tritons, as the first six points went to the home squad. Lindenwood battled back to one possession, but Missouri-St. Louis picked up the offense and took a 51-43 after the third quarter. The Tritons build a commanding lead, but a three-pointer by Striverson at the 1:47 mark made it just a seven-point ballgame. However, Missouri-St. Louis held on for the 67-56 win on Saturday.
