The Lindenwood baseball team (4-6) split Sunday's doubleheader with Wayne State (2-4) at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo. The first game went to the Wildcats in a 9-2 final, while the Lions took the series with a 10-2 win in the second game.
GAME ONE OVERVIEW
Wayne State jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning, as all runs were unearned.
Ryan O'Connell pitched well during his 5.2 innings, as he compiled five strikeouts and allowed just two earned runs. The Wildcats added two more runs in the top of the sixth inning, and another in the eighth to take a 6-0 lead.
Bailey Crump cut the deficit to four runs on his two-run bomb to left field in the bottom half of the eighth inning. Wayne State tacked on three more runs in the top of the ninth to close out the first game with the win.

GAME TWO OVERVIEW
Lindenwood scored the first runs of the game in the bottom of the third inning, which started with a bases-loaded walk by
Calvin Nowak.
Kolby Schulte brought the second run across on a fielder's choice to make it a 2-0 lead. The Wildcats got both runs back by score one run in each of the next two innings.
With two outs in the bottom of the fifth, the Lions were patient at the plate which led to a handful of runs.
Michael Ward, and
Genesis Nunez drew back-to-back bases loaded walks to bring in two runs. Crump belted a ball to deep center field, bringing in all three runners in the process to put the Lions ahead 7-2. In the seventh inning, Schulte added to the run total with an RBI triple to left center, and he scored on a sacrifice fly by Ward to make it a 9-2 advantage.
Will Lanxon closed out the scoring with an RBI single in the eight to make it an eight run lead.
Jacob Thompson dealt from the bump, as he compiled 10 strikeouts in his 4 1/3 innings out of the pen.
