The Lindenwood men's wrestling team competed in the Missouri Valley Open on Saturday in Marshall, Mo.  The Lions had three place winners, including Isaac Jacquez who took second place in the 125-pound weight class.
 
OVERVIEW
Jacquez rolled through his first three opponents with a 19-4 tech fall and back-to-back major decisions.  After a slim 7-6 decision in the semifinal, Jacquez lost in the final to take second place in his weight class.  Jacquez outscored his opponents by a margin of 54-34, as his lone loss was by a 17-6 margin.
 
Dawson Sickmeier had a wild day, as four of his matches were decided by pin.  Sickmeier won his final three matches by fall, finishing in sixth place in the 157-pound division.  Zac Russel took fifth place in his 165-pound weight class, as he totaled two pins with one major decision.  Russel won the fifth-place bout by an 18-6 major decision to close out his day.
