The Lindenwood men's wrestling team (6-3) dominated Kentucky Wesleyan (1-16) and Central Missouri (5-7) as the Lions honored their senior class on Wednesday night inside Hyland Arena in St. Charles, Mo.
OVERVIEW
The Lions started the night on the right foot, earning 12-straight points due to forfeit.
Colby Smith handed his opponent a loss, as Smith registered a pin at the 5:46 mark of his 141-pound bout.
Jack Tangen followed win a pin of his own, posting six more team points in 4:33.
Anthony Michaels earned a tough 8-4 decision, while
Nate Trepanier (18-2) and
Elijah Mahan (18-3) registered tech falls in their respective matches. After a pair of forfeits by the Panthers,
Michael Kramer capped off the dual with a pin in with 29 seconds left in the second period to secure the 55-0 shutout.
Nick Lindley tallied his second win of the night in the first match against Central Missouri, as he notched a 6-2 decision.
Austin Kegley needed just 2:09 in the 133-pound weight class to pin his opponent and add to the Lindenwood lead. Smith scored 20 points in the next match to earn a tech fall by a margin of 20-5.
Michaels, Trepanier, and Mahan ran through their opponents with three-consecutive major decisions to put the dual out of reach.
Ryan Golnick earned a 7-2 decision at 197 pounds, while Kramer closed out the night with a pin at the 1:56 mark of the 285-pound match.
