The Lindenwood baseball team (9-7) swept Minnesota Duluth (4-4) in Thursday's doubleheader by finals of 7-2 and 13-4 at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

GAME ONE OVERVIEW
Austin Schmitt drove in the first run of the game in the second inning on an RBI double to left field, as
Michael Ward scored from first base. Later in the inning Schmitt and
Will Lanxon executed a double steal to add a run, and
Sam Kissane made it a three-run game with an-RBI single to center field. Schmitt drove in another run in the bottom of the third to extend the lead to 4-0, as
Ryan O'Connell continued to deal on the mound.

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Schmitt brought another run across the plate before
Alex Gauspohl drove in a pair on a triple down the right field line. The Lions surrendered two runs in the top of the sixth inning, but held on for the 7-2 win in the first game.

GAME TWO OVERVIEW
Minnesota Duluth got on the board first in game two, but the Lions continued to succeed at the plate.Â
Genesis Nunez tied the game on an infield single, and Meyer gave the Lions a lead with a sacrifice fly. Ward made it a 3-1 ballgame after bringing in a run on a triple to right center. The Bulldogs cut into the lead to make it a one-run game, but Lindenwood kept rolling.Â
Bailey Crump led off the bottom of the second with a triple to right center, as Kissane drove him in on a two-out single. Meyer drove in two runs on a single to second base, and Schmitt registered a bases-loaded walk to make it 7-2.

The Bulldogs added two more runs to bring the Lindenwood to just three runs in the top of the third inning. Nunez made built the lead back up in the bottom of the third after bringing in a couple of runs on a double to center field. Lindenwood took a 10-4 lead after Ward scored on a single by Crump in the fourth inning.

Logan Katen pitched 4.1 strong inning in relief as he generated seven strikeouts and allowed just one hit. The Lions extended the lead in the bottom of the sixth with three runs. Schmitt drove in a run on a single through the left side, while Crump brought in a run in the next at bat. Kissane drove in the final run of the game on a sacrifice fly, as the Lions completed the doubleheader sweep on Thursday.
